Job Description

The Central Square Central School District is accepting applications for the 2025/2026 school year for an Assistant Director of Pupil Personnel Services.

Position Goal:  The position will support the tasks and responsibilities assigned to that office to include the development, support and monitoring of all special education and related services. In collaboration with the administrative team and under the supervision and guidance of the Executive Director (as well as the Assistant Superintendent and Superintendent), this position will provide leadership in providing all students with an academic experience that is accessible, rigorous, relevant and engaging.

Type of Position: 12-month position-Assistant Director of Pupil Personnel Services will be a member of the Central Square Administrative Association.

Education and Experience:

  • Master’s Degree in Special Education or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of five years teaching experience required
  • NYS SDL Administrative Certification required
  • Demonstrated knowledge of public-school laws and policies as they relate to the delivery of special education services and related program

Responsibilities include but not be limited to:

  • Assist with chairing, coordinating and finalizing District CSE/CPSE/504 meetings as needed
  • Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE) coordination of meetings and services
  • Collaborate with literacy coaches/curriculum consultants regarding reading and math interventions and supports for students with disabilities
  • Oversight of NYSAA test administration and data reporting
  • Support building administrators and staff with behavior strategies and interventions
  • Facilitate Professional Development planning and execution for district staff 
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations regarding special education, 504 plans, and other student services.
  • Conduct Staff Evaluations in collaboration with the Executive Director
  • Assist with supervision of out of District student placement and agency related services, including BOCES programs.
  • Any other assigned tasks/responsibilities as designated by the Executive Director, Assistant Superintendent or Superintendent.
